So I ease toward the surgery date. Plans are being made, logistics being logisted, visitors and loved ones to be accommodated, and I can already see my life narrowing in those things I now have to refuse or reconsider. Really, it's been a great day, but the truth of what comes next hangs over me like a 900 pound parakeet. The Fear is gone, but man, are there a lot of pieces.

And this is the calm before the storm.

Good luck with the Dorito of Doom. I feel a writing project coming on but it'll have to wait until after NaNoWriMo - unless I can borrow the Jay Lake Patented Mojo Of Super Productivity. I promise not to race it flat out and take it easy round the corners but I reckon with it I can probably get the 100,000 words of this novel done in a couple of days.
