Rick Perry’s ‘war on religion’ ad becomes a meme — Couldn't have happened to a more deserving fool.

Perry’s Anti-Gay Rights Focus Is Divisive Even to Staff — Don't worry, Rick. Vile bigotry is always a good sell to the "family values" crowd.

Should Rick Perry's YouTube ad be banned as hate speech? — Banned, no. I'm all about the First Amendment. Prominently labelled as hate speech? Absolutely. Along with much other GOP campaign rhetoric from the "God, guns, gays" parts bin, sadly. Not that Perry or the GOP will ever for a moment be embarrassed about that.

Re: Amazon's thirty pieces of silver, whoops, I mean $5. It's not just that it's abusing the "Main Street showrooms" a/k/a bookstores. It's that they're telling their customers to enter our price data when taking advantage of their deal. They get free market research about what discounts are out there and which books customers are willing to buy cheaper from them, which gives them free data about which books make the best loss leaders. If I had an iPhone, I would be really, really insulted that not only will Amazon only pay me $5 to do their marketing division's jobs for them, but they will only pay me $5 if I buy more than $100 worth of books this way, thus ensuring that they are getting an hour's work for $5 tax-free dollars. Totally tax free, too - they don't have to contribute to unemployment insurance like real employers do when their $5 is supposedly a purchase incentive.

Sorry. . Now, back to explaining to customers that they will lose the right to due process any day now. Happy holidays from the Stalinist-Soviet States of America! :(
