I'm reminded of the observation that the reason so many "red state" citizens support tougher voter-access laws is because, since they're "real Americans," the only possible explanation for why a black Democrat won the White House must me massive voter fraud.

Very sorry to hear you missed the novelette ballot by just one vote: hopefully better luck next time.

Now, as to Cloud Atlas: if you haven't seen the trailer yet, then I urge you to do that as soon as you have the time: Cloud Atlas trailer.

If the movie is half as good as this trailer, if it's a quarter as good as the novel ... well, It'll easily be my movie of the year.

And you can see it in the USA a month before I can see it in Holland.
