Hold on. A lot of conservative pundits who compare nowadays to the Great Depression also go on and on about how it was so bad and so long because of what FDR did...but now the claim is that nobody starved? So which is it?

Personally, I think the book version was a lot more graphic in some ways. And if that was 'shocking', I wonder how they'll feel about future events.

Stossel has issued a correction on his Fox-hosted blog. (Linked as an update to the Media Matters post you linked to.)

By your logic, the correction must be a lie, and his statements "I was almost certainly wrong" and "Historians Steven Mintz and Sara McNeil wrote that there were hundreds of deaths in NYC alone" must also be lies.
