Recently was referred to Centauri Dreams, a science blog about space exploration and future technologies thereof. Seems to be a worthy addition to the blogroll of anyone interested in the rockets-and-rayguns end of science fiction.

A writer named Lee Lowe informs me that they have started a short fiction blog here. Check it out.

Per the discussions of the last few days (here and then here), I have created a new community, Short Shorts. The first post should be public, that lays out the ground rules. I've left myself in place as a moderator to approve memberships, but the community itself will be unmoderated. My suggestion is that photos be posted as "Public" security but stories and admin posts be posted as "Friends" -- that should represent a good faith effort to care of the copyright issues.

Have a look. Kick the walls. Scuff up the carpet. Make sure the Friendslock does what we want it to.

I think most of you read Nick's lj, but if you don't, go check out this post. It's sort of a dream diary/travelog of his experiences yesterday, but it's also an elegant, interesting and entertaining bit of writing.
