Per the average word length post, I have ( charted the responses received thus far in comments. )

Note that my number is for Green, not my general body of work.

Watching Word open the working file on Green, I thought about the character count it briefly displays. A quick bit of math later, I have determined that the average character count per word (not including spaces) in this mss as it exists right now is 4.29. The equivalent statistic for Wikipedia is about 3.5.
