As I was heading home with karindira in the aftermath of the Seattle weekend, I got a phone call. The conversation began with khaybee's statement "I was inspecting my banana", and wound up in a discussion of zombie economics with danjite.

In other news, if any of the Portlanders reading this can recommend a good cleaning service, I'll need someone (or someones) to come into Viejo Rancho Lake on the 28th or 29th of June, after it's been emptied out, and do the floors, bathrooms, etc. — a thorough cleaning as a courtesy to our buyer. Let me know if you have any ideas.

I think most of you read Nick's lj, but if you don't, go check out this post. It's sort of a dream diary/travelog of his experiences yesterday, but it's also an elegant, interesting and entertaining bit of writing.

Had a visitor over the weekend (while I was in Newport), an old acquaintance who has long been seriously into snake breeding. (Yes, goulo, you know him.) Said visitor was telling the Child that all his snakes died last year while he was out of town, during a temperature control malfunction in the snake room. The Child was so moved by this that she made him a wire sculpture snake to memorialize his snakes. I took the liberty of photographing it before wrapping it in bubblewrap to send off to him.
