Which tells you how early in the morning it was for *me* -- I'm usually more aware than that ;>.

If you'd specified that it was a matter of euphonics rather than associations, I might have voted differently.

I only picked Ovaltine because I'm going to make some now, otherwise I would have chosen Zyzygy.

Care to explain what 'zyzygy' stands for?

I know 'syzygy' is a conjuncton of three celestial bodies, but zyzygy doesn't show up in my (electronic) dictionary, and google mostly points to companies, internet handles and a band.

So do please enlighten me!

An alternate spelling of /syzygy/ which apparently only exists in my head. Though I swear I've seen it used over the years, the mighty Intarwebs are making a fool of me this morning.

Sort of like the fact that to this day my internalized definition of /problematic/ is "trivially troublesome", which is not what the word is generally understood to mean.

I would have voted for Syzygy, maybe, but I'm not voting for Zyzygy, so there.

Caused by the -- slightly dis-consonant -- alignment of Saturn, Jupiter, and the Sun.

John Clute still reigns supreme (in making me reach for my dictionary...;-).

Aha! See, I would have voted for "syzygy" too, but next-best is "peregrine."

I love how many people responded to this *g*
