The New York Times on the Election Assistance Commission's report on voter fraud. Money shot is in the lede:

WASHINGTON, April 10 — A federal panel responsible for conducting election research played down the findings of experts who concluded last year that there was little voter fraud around the nation, according to a review of the original report obtained by The New York Times.

Fraud and disenfranchisement are two very different problems. Fraud is when those who could not legally vote do so anyway. Disenfranchisement is when those who could legally vote are discouraged from doing so, usually by setting the bar to access one's voting rights too high (or creating the illusion of doing so, a Rovian classic tactic).

I'm not at all surprised by this. This is the same administration that tried to change the statement, "The Grand Canyon was carved by geologic forces over millions of years" to the more creationist-friendly, "There remains active debate in the scientific community over the age of the Grand Canyon."

What could those expects possibly know? They're not Presidential Appointees after all... They're like those "activist judges" and "environmentalists". Charlatans, the lot of them!
