[personal] Where the frap did the time go?

Well, it's almost the sleepy bell here at Viejo Rancho Lake, I'm half packed, there's cat litter to change, I can't find my 12VDC power inverter, and one of the cats is grooming herself inside a postal bin. In other words, about par for the course hereabouts.

Lots of good comments in the gender in SF thread. I have gathered more hard data and more lines of thought today, but lack the time and mental energy to assemble them into a followup post right now.

For those who didn't get the memo, I am off to San Francisco tomorrow afternoon. I am committed tomorrow, committed Friday day, and adjourning to Borderlands Books Friday at 6 pm to meet up with anyone who wants to do dinner and party in the city that night. Saturday I am running around East Bay, mostly, with a lunch commitment, then back to Chrissy Field around 4 pm for some outdoor time and a meetup point again for dinner. There is a later party threatened in Fremont. Sunday I have a brunch, then I'm loose for the day until a better offer turns up.

Monday I'm off to Omaha and a week with the day job. Come back Friday, spend the day Saturday packing my apartment for relocation in late June with help from tillyjane, lillypond, francitabozita, karindira and the_child. The 19th of May is my last free weekend day before the probably moving date of June 24th. Doing social stuff on Sunday, working three days the following week, then off to Missoula for MisCon in a van loaded with tillyjane, lasirenadolce, danjite and khaybee. If the End Times come Memorial Day weekend, we'll be loaded for bear with roadside geology books and Jay Lake paraphernalia.

Three days after I get back from Missoula, I leave for eight days in New Mexico, then another week in Omaha. And I'm tired now.

Meanwhile, Mother of the Child and I looked at houses today with our Excellent Real Estate Agent. EREA has worked with our family a number of times, and is a very nice, witty guy. The house looking was daunting, given our budget restrictions. She's going to have to fly this plane while I'm gone, because we are closing the sale of Viejo Rancho Lake on May 31st, and need to close the purchase of Nuevo Rancho Lake by the latter part of June.
