Dear Intarwebs —

As I am currently both selling and buying a house, dealing with real estate agents, mortgage brokers, title companies and appraisers, could you please place a temporary hold on the 9,857 mortgage spams I get every day? This trolling-for-morons makes it difficult for me to identify my legitimate email. I promise to go back to faithfully deleting them as I always have once this period of effort on my part is finished.

Oh yuck! I suppose it's too late to set up a gmail account for the transaction, only hand it out to your agents and brokers, and then filter it into a separate mailbox?

Erm, not that I would have thought to do something that clever ahead of time either, mind you.

Yeah, it bites - I had to go hard core with spam controls, listed emails and some domains only and put my lender/title co/insurance/realtor on the accepted emails list for the duration.

Then I just browsed through the spam real quick before dumping it to make sure I didn't miss anything unexpected.

Hucksters, salesmen, spammers, virus writers. To quote Mr Mercury, Beelzebub has a devil put aside...

As for selling/buying houses - morituri te salutant.

I don't get many of those mortgage spams. I mostly get offers to change the size of parts of my body and offers to do business in Nigeria. I do get about 9857 a day, though.
