Re "Wish I Could Draw"; I remember feeling vaguely guilty as a kid about leaving drawings unfinished because they'd be stunted for all eternity... and they say childhood is a simpler time.

Several months ago, the Chronicle of Higher Ed had an article titled "Email is for old people." It was based on some research of college-aged kids, asking them how they used technology to communicate with their peers and their institutions, and a large majority of them felt email was, well, for old people.

I think I was in my early 30s when my office finally got internet and email (although for years I'd been using a mainframe-based email-like communication tool at work).

Such an interesting cast of characters in the Galileo story. He not only reversed engineered the telescope, but perfected it (adding multiple lenses) and all in a twenty-four hour period, because he wanted to beat the salesman of the "Dutch spy-glass" to the punch. He saw profit, but was prophetic.
Another interesting cast member during that time was Giordano Bruno, who was a monk by the name of Giordano Bruno.
