Thank you for dining at this blog. My name is Jay, I've been your waiter tonight. The yutzes in the front office have decided they're curious as to why you come poking around here, so they're forcing me to pimp this survey. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I think that last question was supposed to be I'm thinking of sending Chris pieces from my SHort Fiction backlist so he can run 'em!

Your writing-process stuff was getting quoted on thing_in_150, and I was intrigued. (You could also count me as a data point for the 'blogging sells books' theory, as I just bought yours.) I've only been here a little while, and I'm not a prolific or opinionated commenter.

I just finished "Mainspring" and was both blown away and confused. It was just too weird to fully appreciate the first time, so I have to reread it. You are definitely breaking the boundaries of the genre. The most original book I've read in a long time.

Wow. I am touched. If you're moved to write about it, let me know and I'll link.

And thank you.

actually, on the last two--i don't comment much because i have this ginormous friends list. I found a hilarious picture from the con I met you at, today, though. i love your posts about the child, having met her and thinking she is one of the most gifted kids I've ever met.

And with regard to the fiction, I really, really like your... erm, whatever this LJ genre is. I do seem to be reading fiction again, but the moment one of your books comes out on audio, I am so there. Read by the author, I would hope!

I feel like such a sheep; I voted for all the stuff the majority of other people did. As a writer myself, I find your writing process posts most interesting. I comment when the inclination strikes me, which isn't every post, but I chirp up enough, I think. And more free fiction? In your poll's words: Hot damn.

It's not a sheep thing. It's a consistency thing. Or something.

(In my day job I work in technical marketing, I couldn't resist an informal attempt at data gathering.)

And thank you.

I actually don't speak my mind from time to time - this is my first comment. But it was the less rude option.

Anywho, I love your stuff on writing - so more of that please...

Yah. I like the writing stuff a lot, from my perspective. So many people have helped over the years -- and continue to do so. There's no way to pay them back. This blog lets me try to pay forward.

I like your writing, I find you entertaining and interesting. Someone else usually says what I was thinking, and I don't want to be known as "me too" girl.

Thanks for all the work!

I met you at several cons, and you were one of the usual nutty writers. Then I met you again and the House of Spike and decided you were one of the Really Nutty Writers, and I liked you. Finally got on board.
This is fun!
Thank you!

I like the way your mind works, and I enjoy visiting your blog:) I hope I'll be privileged enough to meet you someday. When that happens, will you sign my copies of your books? See, I do comment.

And I also love the cheese reports!

I don't comment much because you already have enough to read and I don't usually have much to say, aside from 'Thanks'. But I do drop a comment here and there.

I enjoy your blog. I don't comment because I'd be just another person saying "I like this," and you already have a lot of that. And because I do not have anything very interesting to say very often. :)

I recently started reading after my friend kehrli started talking about Mainspring and linking your posts. I only comment when I feel like I have something useful to say, so I will probably be rather quiet; I've always listened more than I talk.

Clowns — need more clowns!

I didn't tick writer stuff because I'm not a writer, but that said, I often enjoy the writerly stuff.
I must say that while I like my political rants, I haven't come across many of them on your blog. I like *your* political rants a lot though!
