Because I had to buy a shirt the other day, I was reminded that my sleeve length is four inches longer than my inseam. I don't think this is all that normal. Think of it as my limb "ick" system.

In my continuing quest to understand my fellow wo|man, and amuse myself, I present the arms-and-legs poll.

Poll #1073420 Arms and Legs

How would you describe your limb "ick" system?

Big head, little arms. I am a human T. rex
The godlike proportions of a Barbie|Ken doll. I'm high waisted with legs that won't quit. Natural philosophers and aesthetes alike glory in my perfection of form.
Two arms, two legs, sleeve and inseam about the same. I could stand in for Leonardo's drawing of Man. What's your point?
Pongoid, baby. My sleeve is way longer than my inseam. I'm lucky I don't have calluses on my knuckles.
I walk with my hands. I am a human orangutan. Ook.
I'm only taking this poll because somebody made me do it. Where's my cookie?

I'm only 5'6", but my legs are as long as my dad's and he's 6'2", so even though I don't have the Barbie doll proportions, I'm quite long-legged.

Have you considered a sideline career in meteorology? You appear to be singularly well-constructed to avoid blowing over while pointing out that, "Hey, it's really windy out here!"

As a Florida resident, we amuse ourselves by creating drinking games centering around the propensity for such folks to say "hunker down."

Dude, you do know that your sleeve length is measured with your arm parallel to the floor and your elbow bent at 90 degress. My shirt sleeve is 34/35 and inseam is 30, so you're not all that abnormal.

(unless we both are)

(abnormal, that is)

(even so, this doesn't mean that you're not a troglodyte in sheep's clothing)

I'm mostly legs, though I am substantial of torso as well.

Shirt size is 17/37 & 1/2, if you're counting.

I'm 5'4" and sinboy is 5'8"ish. We both wear 30" inseam pants. It's not that my legs are long so much as that my torso is short. In my skinnier days, my best bet for dresses that fit were cheongsams.

Actually, I was torn between the cookie and Barbie/Ken. Since I realized there would be no cookie forthcoming, I opted for Barbie/Ken. Plus you didn't have one for monkey arms AND legs!

Yeah, me too. My knuckles would brush the ground as I walked, if I wasn't so long in the torso *and* the legs. NOTHING fits! My fantasy after hitting the PowerBall involves custom made clothing.

Actually, one of my legs takes a 32 inseam, the other about 33. Both arms require a 'tall' length. One hangs about 2 inches lower than the other but that's my shouders, not the actual arm length.

My brother, 6'3", has the orangutan arms. I am--sadly--the shortest person in my family at 5'8".

Most mens sleeve length is longer than their inseam, BTW, so don't sweat it.

Lessee--I share an inseam length with hubby and son; hubby's 5'9" and son is taller (although they keep saying officially he's 5'9" I think he's bigger than that). They've got bigger waists but I can wear their pants (with belt so it doesn't fall down).

My riding instructor says that while my legs are long for my height (5'3"), it's all in my thigh. Knees down, I'm short (which makes for fat calves, which also gives me a challenge in the precision of riding horses). Short torso, narrow shoulders (for the big chest). Petite-sized arms (that is, my clothing size in petite form for girls gives me the right sleeve length, otherwise the sleeves are too long and I have to roll them up). I am extremely short-waisted which coupled with the big bust means that fitting dresses can be Very Interesting.

Oddly enough, my mother, who was 4'11", had broader shoulders, longer torso, longer arms and shorter legs.

Just curious. Perhaps this was only an entertaining coincidence?

I should qualify my godlike proportions with the fact that having long legs and a high waist means I can never find pants that fit right. They ride high on my ankles and up in the crotch. One of many reasons I prefer skirts. >;(

6'2" but with about a 6'8" wingspan. Flat-footed, I can almost put my whole hand on an 8 foot ceiling. Inseam? 34.

I am a Human Ape.

you should have had a tickybox for "lucky that these are my only clothing issues as a guy, because women have a lot more complaints about how their clothing is made for fantasy creatures"

Being tall, I have always had issues trying to buy a long sleeved anything, it just ends up sad. And that was before I gained the weight.

I noticed that as I am growing in girth, I appear to be of Violet Beauregarde blueberryesqueness.

Time for a squeeze.
