Fresh baked yeast rolls coming out of the oven, snow falling outside at a good clip. Presents everywhere. the_child on a sugar high.

Yep, it's Christmas at Nuevo Rancho Lake. How's your holiday shaping up?

Evening here, post-Dr Who. Mince pies are being consumed, as is tea and/or single malt. We may have a frost or it might rain again. The dog has just coughed something up.

We're all alive and in decent health. We're having a great time! Have a wonderful day, Jay.

Hi Jay...Merry Christmas! I'm here in Montana. I cooked some klub last night (Norwegian potato ball) and today I'm lounging at my sis's place just reading and vegging. Nice for a change. Dinner at my other sis's place tonite, then an early 6 am flight out tomorrow so i can have my Christmas time with Orion. Enjoy the rest of your Christmas day!

Kalispell. And all my siblings went to Bozeman for college. I was the oddball. I came out to the PNW for school.

Late night fighting evil with Manga Santa, then an early morning defeating the insidious gift wrapping cartel.

After a quick nap, and a bit of sup, I'm starting to feel human again.

Our clan is contented and well-fed.

Sounds like yours is as well.

A good day, then. Perhaps it will bleed over into the new year as well.

Much happiness to you and yours.

Sneezings Greetings! We went to church last night (the first time I have ever attended church on Christmas eve, then to M.'s dad's home for family gift-opening and general merry-making. Today, we saw "The Red Balloon." Oh, and lots of eating. Lots!

Quiet, with family. Just watched Dr Who. Youngest son getting vocally frustrated with Assassin's Creed. No snow. Like I care.

We had lots of sticky snow over at my sister's house this morning, but nothing much here in Sellwood. Dave is currently rocking out to "Turning Japanese" with his new Guitar Hero Rockin' the 80's game. Earlier it was Ronnie James Dio. (Yes, I am doomed. No, it was not my fault.)

On the bright side, we're going to a Blazer game in half an hour. All in all a surprisingly good Christmas.

Happy holidays to you and yours!

Not enough snow to get out the skinny skis. Phooey. Oh well, watched some Teton Gravity Research ski porn today, caught some excellent images of combination skiing and rappeling to get down some couloirs in France.

Just a *wee* bit beyond my particular adrenaline level.

Back on the slopes on Friday, when it'll be a ski and horseback riding day--or so it appears.

Meanwhile, cruising along nicely on pain meds for the migraine that made its appearance this morning...sigh. Mass last night (not the Midnight, too crowded) was quite nice. I've gotta figure out how Father Bob manages to mesmerize the babies he picks up during his Christmas homilies, so that they just settle into his arm and stare out wide-eyed at everything instead of screaming. I've *never* seen a kid scream in his arms (except post-baptism, and every one of the babies usually cries for that, especially in winter. Then, as they get older, they decide they'd prefer to go swimming in the baptismal font, especially in summertime...)
