Twas the day after Christmas and all through the office
Not a creature was stirring, not even a rush fax
The email boxes were closed out with care
In hopes that their owners would not have to be there
The boss was on vacation, I was at my desk
When out on the floor I heard a great mess
I rose from my chair to see what was the matter
Peered over the cube wall to check out the clatter
When what to my wondering eyes should appear
But a client with a work order for revenue so dear
I sprang to the hallway, I sprinted across the floor
It was imperative to stop them before they found the door
The quarter was soon to close as it was
Booking some business would be a good cause!
The client was shifty, tricksy and quick
He moved like a golfball that had just been flicked
I was the quicker, I knew the best way to run
Left at the coffee maker, around to the front
I wrestled the client down and jammed a pen in his hand
I told him this was where I would stand
Until he signed off on revenue to start the new year
And round out my commission which I hold so dear
With a wink of his eye and a twitch of his nose
My client signed off and up the chimney he rose
I heard him explain 'ere he climbed in his Benz
Merry Christmas to All! And a Happy Year End!
