Can anyone in the greater Portland metropolitan area recommend a good piano tuner? the_child is starting to play my ancestral piano in earnest, and has been complaining of how out of tune it is.

complaining? she's complaining?

why, back in my day, we had to push our piano up the hill through the snow-covered broken glass lining the streets of the slum just to get to the piano teacher's house where she would beat us with empties of her whiskey bottles before making us practice blindfolded and naked while sitting on trays of weeks' old cat litter while we trembled in pain from the hot water enemas she gave us because everyone knows that you can't learn properly without freshly flushed out bowels.

huh. now that I think about it, is it any wonder I stopped lessons after less than a year?

Call Day Music on about 52nd and Foster. They have a stable of tuners.

He teaches, too, if she wants lessons.

I was going to mention Rich, too. It's got to be the same Rich.

And lo, the piano is tuned by him! The only Goth piano tuner I've ever met.
