This morning, six days after being admitted to my hospital room, I happened to be in the bathroom and looking at the nurse's call there.

Somehow I read "PULL FOR HELP" as "PULL FOR HEEP", and was promptly very impressed that OHSU had an emergency supply of Uriah Heep.

As my dad pointed out, this train of thought was not the least bit out of the ordinary for me.

It could be worse. Think about it. You pull the chord and UH starts playing "Look at Yourself." On one hand, not very helpful, but on the other hand, potentially very embarrassing.

Or maybe cause "I Wanna be Free" ? I might have difficulty pulling the chord because of "Tears in My Eyes." However, this might be a good time to reflect on "What Should be Done."

But what could be more appropriate for a writer? You Pull for Heep and become a "Traveller in Time" where you consider the "Tales" of "All My Life" until a "Circle of Hands" brings you back to the "Sunrise" after hearing the "Echoes in the Dark" turn into "Shadows of Grief" when "Sweet Lorraine" becomes "Spider Woman" and kidnaps you to her "Love Machine."

Whoa.

Hey Jay . . . got any spare pills?
