Day one is over. The schedule is kind of grueling, but Launch Pad is intensely cool. Today we covered the scale of the cosmos in a lot of detail; then pedagogical issues in science educations, specifically around misconceptions; and finally a really good survey of the Solar System. Plus lunch and dinner.
Most of the workshop is out at the Bad Science Movie Night, but I decided to respect my fatigue and retire early. I’m staying up later, just quietly in my room, as I’m trying to timeshift from my usually 9-5 sleep schedule to the 12-8 sleep schedule this workshop is designed around, and which Denvention will also require of me.
Good people, good work. I’ll post more details when I have time (ha!) and coherence.
