I am pleased to note that the Mainspring mass market paperback and the Escapement hardback have recently come out in UK editions. Nice news on top of the recent Locus science fiction best seller nod.

I assume you have confirmation of this from your publisher? I'm very confused about what Tor UK are publishing and what they aren't, at the moment; Amazon UK has listings for various writers (including yourself, Peter Watts, Karl Schroeder) that appear to be UK editions (no "US list price", prices are £6.99 for pb and £17.99 for hb) but which I have never seen on UK bookshop shelves.

I'm a bit confused myself, but yes, I checked this with Tor here in the US.

In my case, the amazon.co.uk listing shows very recent release dates, trailing the US release dates by a month or so, for whatever that's worth.

Well, I'm going near a bookshop when I leave work this evening, so I'll check in and see what's what. (For what it's worth, you're not on the Tor UK site either -- that I can find -- and I haven't been sent any review copies for Strange Horizons. Which is fine, since we already reviewed the US editions, but Tor UK does normally send stuff.)

It's also still possible I was unintentionally misinformed, so any clarity you arrive at would be most welcome.

I'm hoping you're right and I'm wrong -- there aren't nearly enough US writers getting published over here at the moment.

Well, Borders didn't have a copy of either, and only had US imports listed on their database. (Although they seem to have imported a whole bunch in one go, sitting in a warehouse somewhere.)

Try the following ISBNs:

Escapement

# ISBN-10: 0765317095
# ISBN-13: 978-0765317094

Mainspring

# ISBN-10: 0765356368
# ISBN-13: 978-0765356369

They seem to be the same ISBNs as the US editions, but Amazon.co.uk shows different UK release dates.

I am confused...
