So, a few photos of today’s high altitude adventures with the_child and tillyjane. We did about two hours on the trail, at a leisurely pace, then rode the lift up to the Silcox station, and walked back down about 3/4 mile from the 7,000 foot line. Well, some of us walked…
Setting out early in the day from Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood. This is at about 6,000 feet.
Self portrait with volcano.
Mt. Jefferson, some fifty miles south. It’s difficult to tell in this photo, but the Sisters is visible just to the left of Mt. Jefferson, about ninety miles south.
A lupens flower. Both lowland and alpine versions can be found intermixed along the trail at this altitude.
More lupens, with hikers.
the_child her own self.
More of her own self.
Us’n’s at the lift base for the Silcox Hut.
Mt. Hood’s top, from the lift. This is still some 4,500 feet above me.
the_child riding down solo while her grandmother and I walk.
As usual, more at the Flickr set.
