Joke heard last night on radio on way home: "The Rapture is *not* an exit strategy" -- apparently, for some, it is.... Though to be fair -- there's an idiot's guide to just about every damn thing.

Wanna blow some minds? Shelve that right next to The Compete Idiot's Guide to the Kama Sutra.

I have an awesome necklace and an earring from Clockwork Zero. Couldn't recommend her highly enough -- and grateful to Ellen Datlow for bringing her to my attention.

Eh, the Complete Guide is just the latest version of Hal Lindsey. It's nothing new, Jay--stuff like this has been going around ever since the Scofield Reference Bible got published.

The Rapture, theologically, is rooted in 19th century American Protestant evangelicalism. It's not a classical Biblical construct. Dispensational premillenialism--the formal name for the construct which includes the Rapture--is a fairly new concept. One thing which made me very happy with Catholicism is that most Catholics (with the exception of some steeplejacked pentecostal types) do not embrace dispensational premillenialism.

I am very tempted to try my hand at steampunk jewelry now. I plan on making some gamer dice jewelry here soon (as soon as I can steal back my drill and drill bits from ym husband. Muahahahaha)
