WIP:
They gianed the top of the stockade and looked out on the fog-bound landscape. Africa was nothing more than a few armspans of swirling gray overlaid with shadows. The Wall loomed behind the, massive as another world.
“Were is your airship, Chief McCurdy?”
“If I knew that, I’d be a happier man than I am,” the bosun replied. “Lieutentant Ostrander might have decided to fly her to moon.”
“Your midshipman is no force at all, you said.”
“Not to stand against an officer, he’s not.” McCurdy sounded sad now. Nothing so resolute as al-Wazir would have been, “As for you, John Brass, ’tis is now that you’ll go over the fence and carry your tales home?”
