Last time I was in Omaha, I came down with an upper respiratory infection.

Guess what?

It's actually a fairly trivial sniffle, but with just enough post-nasal drip to render sleep damned near impossible. I keep waking up choking, or feeling like I need to throw up. So the last two nights have not been made of win. I think I'm going to have to stand down when I get home and spend the weekend on the couch. Grr.

This is also interfering with writing and writing related program activities. Double grr.

You're not alone, fella. Con crud strikes again. Take care of yourself and feel better.

While it could be con crud or traveling crud, it could also be sick building crud or some allergy. Are the folks at the Omaha office sick? Are there other sick people in your hotel? Any new "cleanser" smells at either place?

And, feel better.

You were sniffling a bit last evening.

It must be those heated seats. That's all I can think of.

And Shannon is not sick either, so I am doubtful of Con Crud.

I feel your pain ...

I am now one week into this bug and I am mightily pissed-off. It's ringing the changes, through tonsilitis and low-grade fever through post-nasal drip and back to a head cold and now a hacking cough and more hideous yellow slime in the sinuses. And I'm dizzy. feorag's had it for two weeks, and it comes and goes. Aaagh.

I hope you're okay! I think I might have bronchitis. When I called the nurse helpline, and told her about the convention, she asked if I'd been "intimate" with anyone there. She meant "did you let anyone stick their strep-infected tongue down your throat?" but I wondered, "does being at the bottom of a pile of seven or eight people count?"

Does proximity without spit-swapping count?

I hope not! Post-doctor, however, I'm getting better pretty fast. May you do the same!
