I confess, I equipped the sparrow (not named Jack, the names of passerines are secret and dark, more I cannot reveal) with the bow and arrow. As to why, all I can say is that Cock Robin owed certain gentlemen, in whose employ I then was, a considerable amount of money, and had been extraordinarily dilatory in repaying them.
