Today while out walking, I said, "Ooh, a Pinzgauer, let's go that way."

calendula_witch said, "Ok."

A couple of blocks later, we saw this:

calendula_witch asked me, "What's it for?"

I said, "Well, to drive on battlefields."

"Right," she said, "but what's it for in San Francisco?"

Easy - prep for the End Times.

(Yup, I grew up with the cold war. Doesn't everyone have an armageddon bookshelf, just in case?)

no, no! you use them as *cash,* after you've used the knowledge inside to build your defensible fortress/farm with biodiesel manufacturing capabilities. Duh! :-)

Point taken - but I think there's some safety if you're the one who runs the shop.

Besides, I've taken enough hits to the brain to know I should check the manual as I'm building... my physics is solid but creative; makes for interesting engineering.

Clearly you've never tried to find parking near Golden Gate Park.

Have at it! Also, there's a closed-cab Pinz for sale here in SF, parked over on Duboce/Division under the 101 elevated deck, very close to the Rainbow Grocery.

I was so sure that a Pinzgauer was going to turn out to be some kind of giant, prehistoric-looking dog. Sigh.
