NPR just said that Phoenix, AZ has had more rain than Portland, OR so far this year.
Give it back, dammit! I'm talking to you, van Eekhout!
So is it unreasonable of me to expect other adults to have email?
In the last few days I've had to deal professionally with a person who does not use email. This turns out to be rather annoying, as both my day job and my writing/editing career involve an enormous amount of sharing of documents electronically, almost always on a short-turnaround basis. Sending someone a postal letter requesting a disk by return mail is frustrating.
Meanwhile, one of the other parents in the Child's first grade class told me the other day that she "just couldn't handle email." She asked if I would print all the email traffic on the class mailing list and leave it in a folder for her to pick up when she dropped her child at school every day. I was very nice about it, but I declined.
In both cases, the people involved have computers, and telephones, and financial resources sufficient for an AOL account or whatever.
What's the opposite of a Luddite? I'm one of those. People, get freaking email if you want to live in this world! At least if you want to live in the part of it I hang out in.
Yes, I know, I'm being unreasonable and intolerant etc. etc. blah blah. Let the flames begin...
