Today is National Cancer Survivors Day — Ironically this is also my 46th birthday. And my cancer is slightly over two years old, the little bastard. (Thanks to shelly_rae.)

The Beauty of Paper Art — Some wow stuff here. (Thanks to willyumtx.)

Creatures of the Mechazoic Era — (Via io9.com.)

Lunokhod: Reflections on a Moon Robot — Old Soviet lunar robot has new value to science.

Guided by Parasites: Toxoplasma Modified Humans — Mmm. Cat weirdness. (Thanks to danjite.)

Toilet shot in Utah restaurant — More Second Amendment defense of essential liberties, I see. That toilet was surely a socialist Muslin. Even clueless libtard me knows what a safety is. Then again, I've had a lot of firearms training — which is why I dislike and distrust guns so much. I understand them too well. (Thanks to theresamather.)

?otD: What's your favorite pastry? Or do you prefer pasties?

[personal] I think I'm turning 46, I really think so

Today is my 46th birthday. How the hell did that happen? I blame tillyjane, a/k/a my mom, personally. It's also National Cancer Survivor's Day. My own little bastard cancer-child is a little over two years old. And I come off the pump today in day three of infusion session eleven. One more to go, in two weeks, then I'm done with that shit.

As previously noted, I've postponed my birthday party til July 3rd [ jlake.com | LiveJournal ], so I can actually manage to enjoy it. Right now would be a wretched time for me to have a party.

So here I go, another day older and shorter of breath. Maybe I'll get to live to be old, if I'm lucky.

My family dropped by for a little birthday party today.

Mmm, cake. Which I could actually sort of taste. Ancient family recipe apparently designed to slay the glucose-impaired and send the chocolate-focused into a circle of heaven.

As usual, more at the Flickr set.
