BTW, my chemo brain is insisting that there's a homonym for "annelids" which means "chronicle of years", but my Google fu is failing me. Any thoughts?

Your Google-fu would keep failing, the OED tells me:

[< French annelide (J. B. Lamarck Recherches sur l'organisation des corps vivans (1802) I. 24) < classical Latin annellus small ring (see ANEUS n.) + French -ide (compare -ID suffix3). Compare French annelés, lit. ‘ringed’ (Lamarck's term describing his first subdivision of Invertebrata) and later ANNELIDA n.]

Take her "Chicago politics" rant, substitute Texas for Chicago, and a similar rant I made up to 2006 used to get conservatives mad at me. Apparently the threat of a permanent majority and a unitary executive is only a good thing under a Republican.
