Just whisper in Mark's ear: "De Vere wrote the plays" then sit back and watch the fireworks. Fun for the whole family. :-)

Jay, the Westboro Baptist Church aren't Conservative Americans -- they appear to be a for-profit litigation engine.

Nothing those putrid scumbags do should surprise you, but it's a mistake to confuse them with the Christianists. They're nothing to do with religion and everything to do with money ...

Understood, but they use the rhetoric, tropes and American political protections of conservatism and Christianism. Walks like a duck, quacks like a duck...

How exactly are conservatives supposed to stop the Westboro Baptist Church's abusive actions? It's not as if they are taking orders from any other conservatives.

All those on the Right (like me) can do is to condemn them. Which I do, whenever the topic comes up, which is why I'm posting this here.

(btw, I'm an atheist conservative libertarian, not a religious conservative of any faith).

I look forward to the day that one of the Westboro Baptist people dies. The funeral for said soul will be an interesting festival to watch.

I wonder if any of their family or friends have died from an accident or illness. If so, is that a sign of their god's displeasure?

Or how about if one of their children is doing badly in school? Maybe that's a sign of sin and worthy of condemnation.

Lose your job? Heathen, definitely.

Headache? Satan.
