Home from the hospital, pretty whacked out on painkillers at the moment. More from me later when time and mental acuity permit.

For now, I leave you with this one Important Safety Tip: Do not under any circumstances get the dry heaves whilst enjoying fresh abdominal sutures. Just sayin'.

Remember, here at this blog we try out new life experiences so you don't have to!

And it's good to be back.

I understand hiccups are also contra-indicated.

That, BTW, is an awesome profile pic. Took me a minute to figure out what it wally was. For a minute, it looked like a really ugly dog with inset eyes. :)

Good that you are home. I had the vomits after my appendix were taken out. Not a nice experience. Hope you feel better soon.

Welcome home! Here's to speedy and effective convalescence.

DHs are also contraindicated when one has a chest tube inserted, as I learned the hard way in my twenties.

It also established that I'm unlikely to every be a morphine addict, as that's what triggered the heaves.

Coughing is also bad (sez she who's had a C-section with chest cold). Mark also advises against puking through a trach tube. No fun at all!

The things we do for science.

Good to have you home, big fella.

Welcome back Jay. As for that safety tip, I believe you. I had some relatively minor abdominal surgery and it was really difficult and painful to use my diaphragm. And that was just for breathing.
