Good news: My hotel is conveniently located on Union Square.
Bad news: The Nike Women's Marathon is here, too.
Good news: My room is right over the street cable car line on Powell. Very SF.
Bad news: My room is right over the street cable car line on Powell. Noisy.
Good news: My room was ready for early check in.
Bad news: My room was ready for early check in because it's next to the elevator and they cleaned it first.
Good news: I'm in San Francisco in a nice hotel room.

Welcome to SF! Where many things are good, and some things just need to be tolerated...

By the way, if I am guessing correctly, my parents stayed at that hotel recently. They liked it, and did not find it overly noisy.

Don't know if you are vehicularly enabled but a few friends of mine and I are going to go see Red Monday night (and get a bite afterward) at Union Landing off of 880 if you'd like to go.

Are you staying at the Powell? Kinda funky former office building converted to a hotel, after 11pm you'll begin to miss the din of the cable cars and tourists.
