Oh, I think I'm going to read about a friend who's working on Kalimpura.

RE: "What you got going?"

Just last night, reminding myself to hie myself to a bookstore and buy a copy of Pinion, for starters.

Otherwise, soldiering through a head/chest cold. On the writing tip:

1. Wrapping up a near-future gamer-geek story of the zombiepocalypse.

2. Finally in the short rows on another Southern Arthuriana piece involving the Fisher King, Perceval, and the white stag legend.

3. Crossing my fingers on a chapbook query that netted me a "send some sample stories, please."

Good luck on the query, especially.

How many times have I told you, you can't just go hiking with guys you meet on the Internet? Or at writing conferences? Or... or... or...

I need to do my research/reading for my Intro to Interpersonal Neurobiology class, which ends next weekend (so, get it finished and posted to the class before Orycon).

My DH arrives today from a business trip to Italy--left Wednesday, back today.

Brainstorming recreating myself as a private education consultant (ongoing, with sessions of utter panic).

Worldbuilding for the McLoughlin novel. Submissions package for Netwalk. Begin work on submissions package for Pledges.

Go to barn and clip horse, school horse and talk to trainer about possible show plans for next year.

Pray for lots of snow by Thursday, so I can go skiing on Veteran's Day before Orycon (that is, if I have my paper done). Or Friday. Either will do. (Hint, hint, Ullr and Skadi).

That's just the stuff I'm talking about. There's also some sekrit political stuff going on.

But yes, that's just a typical Day in the Life.

I'm at a convention in Iowa, where people keep telling me that I must have a Doran Grey-ish portrait somewhere, as I apparently haven't changed since I last saw most of these folks about 14 yeas ago. I am reading a story in a couple of hours, and I really hope some people show up to that. Then there will be debauchery. I think.

Something I forgot about Iowa: everyone is very, very serious about their drinking.

I'm currently fighting a sinus something, hopefully a virus and not an infection. Contractors are working on my house today (yes on a Saturday) and my daughter has gone off to get sushi (and will be bringing me some). The best part of this post, in my opinion, is the happy news that you are having your chest port removed next Friday! I know you are also happy to get back to work on Kalimpura. I hope that things are progressing in your mother's recovery.

Let's see...

After a late breakfast, bovil and I have to do a short Costco run and go visit a sick friend.

Tonight we're attending the PEERS "Bal de Vampyre" at the Elks lodge in Alameda.

Tomorrow a bit of wine tasting and collecting some wine club shipments.

I also need to muck out more of the studio, as the supplies for my new insane costume ("Project TDK") start arriving on Monday.

If either you or calendula_witch want to be on the filter to watch the builed progress of said costume project, let me know.

In a little while I will meet up with family and head out to Verboort, where there will be semi-infinite quantities* of extremely good sausage, sauerkraut, and other good food.

*The site says they've made 17 tons of smoked sausage this year. And by 8:00 tonight it will all be gone (some, admittedly, in bulk sales, but still).

Going for a walk in the woods with some borrowed dogs, then maybe working on the second book on the current contract. This every six months delivery schedule is cool, but it takes some getting used to in terms of adjusting writing expectations.
