It's Sunday. Go play. That's what I'm going to do. That, and work on Sunspin.

However, when you go play, take photos. Post a photo here of something fun and interesting from today, Sunday, January 30th. The one(s) I like the best — funny, striking, cool, artistic, whatever — I'll use in my daily moment of zen series, plus I'll send you a free book or two.

Not exactly a contest. More like group art. Grab your camera. Go. Stop reading this. Bye.

ETA: For those longitudinally-based chrononauts on the far side of the world or whatever, I shan't be strict about the date thing. I just mean now-ish as opposed to a-while-ago-ish.

I'm not sure this constitutes "fun" for me (although it was no where near as dire as some had predicted. Avocado had her first co-ed birthday sleepover last night. Here they are, in the dingy morning light: http://www.flickr.com/photos/7395496@N06/5401769440/

I note with amusement that, despite drinking Red Bull and vowing to stay up all night, they only lasted until about 3. Kid these days.

For me the day is over, but I DID take couple of pictures and somehow the ones I kept were about yellow:

PS: generally the traditional skirts are longer. At least the mainland ones. Living on seaside meant need to go into water and wet woolen skirt is not fun at all (especially in our climate here), so the islanders had shorter skirts (as you can see on illustration to this blog post Google helpfully sought for me when I asked for Muhu skirt pictures: http://kristiiiiina.blogspot.com/2010/06/uhke-muhk.html )

I went to aerial class, and captured my teacher with her five-week-old son strapped to her chest, helping someone learn to climb. I'll post it when I get to the Real Internet.

gonna try to get away with a week-old photo while I sort through today's photographs for one I can legally and morally make public. :)

Today I'm making the final touches on this painting. I almost finished it in the summer, but after doing six pieces in a month for an art show, I was so frustrated with painting that I couldn't look at it any longer. Finally doing the little things, like giving her eyelashes and cleaning up the edges.

I took this on my walk to the coffee shop yesterday. My only camera these days is in my 2-year-old phone.

The ring is the base for a glass table, I think, and is hanging off a large iron spike that looks as if it has been in the tree for decades.
