Just lately, I've been sleeping less. It's been about a week, which doesn't exactly count as a long-term trend, but I tend to be pretty in touch with my physiology and this is becoming noticeable.

Not coincidentally, just lately I've had a lot more energy. That started a week or so before the Florida trip, and has really amped up since. I have a powerful sense of life change in progress.

All of which is to say, I think I've torn off another veil of the cancer/chemo recovery process. Just in time to have my next round of tests in about four more weeks. At least I'm back now. We'll see what these transitions actually mean. I have my hopes.

On the other side, my friend in the hospital with the cancer similar to mine has taken a turn decidedly for the worse, despite the recent optimism. This is about him, not me, so if you're the type to manifest or pray, spare a few for E.H. He needs them.

For my own part, I confess I keep thinking, "My cancer, my chemo, this could be me."

Life giveth, and life taketh away. Jay liveth.

Yup. The fragility of life is a very clear concept.

I'm so pleased to hear you've taken yet another step on the way up. And your friend of course has my prayers.

Glad to read you're getting more energy. It's probably not a coincidence that it matches the season (and the timing of when chemo started).

And prayers are going out for your friend.

Fuck cancer.

So sorry about your friend. Hope this is one of those turns-for-the-worse than then turns into a turn-for-the-better. But whatever happens, your friendship enriches his life.

Hoping that your trend of more energy continues.
Hugs for your friend. And hugs for you too as you go forward to your tests.
