Much to everyone's amazement, I am recovering from anaesthesia and surgery quite quickly. I'm on almost no pain meds, and have been walking the circuit of the ICU ward, and it's only just about 24 hours since they closed me up on the table.

Still a bit mentally thin and fuddled, but I have been reading comments and emails. Thank you every one. More from me as my brain unwraps further.

I hope that everything works out for a speedier recovery than last time and little or no repeat of the problems experienced last time.

Excellent news! It's great to hear that you aren't needing much in the way of pain meds, and I hope that helps you avoid other issues and get well (and home) earlier than expected.

Yay! Sounds like maybe they've finally figured out some of your particular surgical quirks. While it sucks to have to go through it, at least maybe they've got it figured.

Glad you're recovering well!

How long are you in for? I said I'd try to come visit, and I will, assuming they don't boot you out immediately. (This weekend I'll be out of town for a while.)

Well, gosh-darn-golly! That's great for you... And may bollix up my plan to visit you, but we'll see. I'm getting back in town on Sunday afternoon. (Have someone) let me know if I should come charging in with party hats entertainments and objects of interest, and where to go, if so?

If not, I shall surely see you upon your return home.

Amazing what the body can do when we let it - Often the lack of after-surgery drugs improves recovery. Glad to hear that's happening for you!

It doesn't hurt that you're strong as a horse ;>

I'm pleased for you that recovery is going so well this time around.

As a comment on a previous post, I almost didn't recognize you at Readercon when you came up to Peter Straub just as I was excusing myself. I was sorry not to have seen you again, as I had been hoping for a chance to chat a bit. Ah well. I will be in Portland for Art in the Pearl--perhaps we might have a social beverage?

Take care of yourself, and amaze the hospital staff!
