Yesterday I went back to work for the first time since my surgery. I only spent a half day at my desk. It was still tough and tiring. Amazing what exhausts. Another half day today, and I'm hoping to go back full time tomorrow.

The hardest part is sitting up for hours at a stretch. Even though my surgical wound is fairly high on my abdomen, sitting in a desk chair (or a car seat) is very difficult still.

By the same token, I'm not driving yet. I can't handle the seatbelt without a pillow between my wound and the belt. Also, I don't trust my reaction times and situational awareness yet.

Still, I am better each day. And more to the point, I feel better.

What are the alternatives to sitting? Lying down? There's a laptop harness that lets you lie on your back. If you can stand... stand. Ask for a rolling, standing monitor tray.
