And, she argues, Jesus says in the Gospels that the meek will inherit the Earth.
“There would be no Wall Street if Jesus and Mohammad had their way,” said Ghazala Munir, one of the founders of the Interfaith Dialogue Association in West Michigan, during the Oct. 19 panel discussion at Fountain Street Church.

Yep. Hmm. Gives me some ideas for a Jesus and Mohammad story. Totally respectful...and true to both Bible and Koran. Probably never write it, but still...

On a more serious note, the Gospel at Mass this past Sunday was Matthew 23, 1-13, which ends with "All who exalt themselves will be humbled and all who humble themselves will be exalted." The priest tied it in solidly to OWS.

Then again, these days I'm going Jesuit, and when they go social justice, they go it pretty dang 110%.

>>Would Jesus Occupy Wall Street?<<

Considering that he says in several places that he came to minister to the poor, considering that he said he was the Messiah partly due to his ministering to the poor, and considering that technically he could be accused of not going out to look for a job, I suspect the answer to this is probably yes.

Meanwhile, if you haven't seen this already, check out the HuffPost article where former Reagan and Bush economic adviser Bruce Bartlett just admitted that all the talk about government deregulation leading to job creation was just "made up".
