Candidates (Except Romney) Gather In Iowa For Doomiest And Gloomiest Debate Of All — And so they got their moment — and essentially two hours of prominent Republicans talking about how persecuted Christians are in modern America, and how secularism is out to destroy us all. My friends on the Right confuse persecution by Christians with persecution of Christians. Or perhaps they've never heard of school prayer, Creationism, forced pregnancy, religiously based bullying exemption, "conscience laws" for medical providers and gay bashing as planks of their own party. Or perhaps they're unaware of the percentage of Christians serving in Congress and all levels of government, as compared to any other religious group or atheists. Persecution doesn't mean "when I don't get it all my own way."
