What ‘Women for Cain’ saw in him doesn’t exist in natureOver the last few election cycles, it’s become clear that voters want a “regular” guy or gal who goes hunting and enjoys low-brow TV, but is also smart enough to solve the most challenging and complex problems the world has ever faced. Well, except for that last bit. W's presidence and the current GOP primary have both proven that "no smarter than my narrow-minded, anti-intellectual self" is an import qualifier for a GOP candidate.

Re: the Obamacare article:

"If you thought that the Obama Administration chickened out on pushing the nation in the direction of universal health care for everyone, today is the day you begin to understand that the reality is quite the contrary."

Oh, please, please, make it so.

I know we got almost NO acorns this year, after last year when it sounded like it was hailing on our house for about 6 weeks!

And- I do hope that the requirement that health "insurance" companies actually spend 80% of their revenues on paying for actual health CARE works out as the article says...

I'm often stumped by the President's PR, but this week I am doubly bamboozled.

1. If for-profit insurance is really in so much danger of becoming for-benefit insurance, why didn't the administration point this out while all the opinion was going sour about it?

2. Indefinite detention of US citizens interferes with the President's efforts in the war on terror too much?! I mean, I get how it would affect, say, the FBI enough to make that an issue, but how about a little fireside "America, don't worry, I won't grant my office a power I wouldn't trust future presidents with" reassurance!
