I saw the Siri Failures blog before because I live in Pittsburgh, but a friend who has an iPhone with the new Siri app in New York city said he had tried some of the same questions and had the same issues finding any of the Planned Parenthood, or other women's services clinics. It directed him to "pregnancy crisis centers". Also he asked Siri why it was against abortion and it replied, "I just am, Steve." When he tried this with other subjects, it would reply with either "Why indeed?" or an offer to search the web for the subject.

Interesting - the NPR story I heard interviewed "Real" clinics - and they specifically said it was due to how the pages were build and how search engines crawled the web now-a-days. They look for "most instances" of the word you used - and the "fake" clinics use that word a LOT, whereas the "Real" clinics don't because that's only one small part of the services they offer.

Lot's of takes on this topic...

Propnomicon does some excellent work, I highly recommend their stuffs.

Oh, and the patch pictured is their first draft. They re-released it with a more accurate aeroplane, and recently, in light of further information about what type of planes that expedition would have used, are considering another redraft. That's the kind of folk they are.
