@dratz picked me up at the airport. We cruised back to his house, then wandered over to Antonelli's to score some cheese for some of the other Paradise Lost attendees. Mmm, cheese.

They had a nice, focused selection, and a very helpful cheesemongress, who was quite patient with me and @dratz.
We then returned chez @madge707 had appeared, and set out the cheese board. This involved a fair amount of hilarity, as @dratz is experimenting with his filmmaking gear, and so a good 45 minutes was expended on a brief cheese-umentary with improv acting by me and Madge.
Our cheeses included…

Nancy's camembert

Cowgirl Mt. Tam

Sottocenere al tartuffo, my old favorite

Epoisses, another favorite of mine which that Philistine

Paski sirana, a Croatian cheese with some similarities to aged parmigiana

Caveman, a blue from Oregon's Rogue Creamery
We also had bonus food.

Strawberry blood orange marmalade infused with rosemary, which Madge her own self had made and brought as a gift for the @dratzs

A very nice sopressata
Unfortunately, the rest of our party missed the connection, and so most of this went into the fridge. We headed out to Chuy's Hula Hut, which until yesterday was one of my favorite restaurants. Unfortunately, some kind of party boat was tied up at their dock, and really obnoxious techno music was blaring so loudly that over a hundred feet away on the pier where we were eating, we could barely hear ourselves think. What is normally a very pleasant dining experience was rendered into an annoying, headache-inducing irritation.
The company was good, though.

@nyorosys, @bbolander, @inkhaven, @johnjosephadams, @StinaLeicht, @dratz, @madge707 and @endiron at dinner
We then returned chez @dratz, and were joined by Mrs. @dratz who had returned from her topless bicycling critique group, for alcohol and chatter. Also, as the evening wrapped up, I discovered some pretty interesting responses to yesterday's blog post about doing a piece of fiction as a full sleeve tattoo. More on that anon.
I finally went to bed about midnight Central time, whereupon the resident @dratz feline decided that in the bed with me in the dark was an excellent time to puke up whatever she had been eating. That produced some brief excitement, but all was eventually resolved.
This morning we're off to San Antonio to link up with the rest of the Paradise Lost crew. See some, all or none of you around the joint.
