What's entertaining to me is that she's known you her entire life and yet these things still surprise and shock her. Hasn't she been paying attention? :-)

Perhaps because I went along with the discreet nose-piercing, Avocado has been reasonably cooperative on the tattoo front ("when I'm 18 I'm gonna..."). To which my answer has been, "You pay for it, you can do whatever you want when you're 18."

Actually, the one thing she's said she wants which makes sense is a discreet R on the base of her right thumb and an L at the base of her left thumb. Like her mom, she suffers from right-left confusion...

I love how she's so embarrassed and appalled, but keeps filming. Love her personality.

Nice to know that I'm not the only one corrupting their children. I figure that they're going to go into therapy anyway, so I might as well get my money's worth.

First, she's right, with parental consent, the under 18s can get tattooed.

that is not the case in OR

"(7) Tattooing is prohibited:

(a) On a person who is inebriated or appears to be incapacitated by the
use of alcohol or drugs;

(b) On persons who show signs of intravenous drug use;

(c) On persons with sunburn or other skin diseases or disorders such as open lesions, rashes, wounds, puncture marks in areas of treatment;

(d) On persons under 18 years of age, regardless of parental consent, except when authorized or prescribed by a physician's statement exclusively for medical repigmentation as defined in OAR 331-550-0000(8)."

ahh, the joys of young adults as it were... when my nephew wanted a tattoo while he was still living at home, I told him as long as he was living there, he had to respect their rules, but when he was out the door, over 18 and doing his own thing, he could do as he damn well pleased.

He now has 4 tattoos at last count, his parents still dont know why he and his sister have skin art, and they look at me as a bad influence. (I got my first tat at 19).
