I more than doubled in a month, from 2.9 to 6.4. I now have higher CEA levels than I did when presenting three rapidly growing metastatic tumors last summer. Elevated CEA levels are not conclusive evidence of metastatic disease, but they are highly indicative, especially in my case. In my medical history, I have never experienced elevated CEA levels without there being tumor development.
My oncologist says we'll wait for the early May CT scan (four weeks from yesterday) before taking any further steps. I'm fine with this plan.
Not sure what the odds are that this presentation will be my terminal diagnosis, but they seem reasonably high.
Guess I need to write faster.
