On my CD player this evening, in order on the mix disc: "California Dreaming", "Blinded by the Light", and the main theme from Tubular Bells. The reader is free to draw their own conclusions.

Well the light burns now doesn't it. We sometimes set our fires more than anyone else possibly could....don't we.

Which "Blinded"? Bruce or Manfred?

If it's Bruce, I'd guess you're researching. If it's Manfred, you're just slumming in the 70's. :)

I'm hoping it's Bruce.

Now for me, the last three things on shuffle were:
M - Je Dis Aime
Khaled, Faudel, Taha - 1, 2, 3 Soleils
Circus Contraption - Our Latest Catalogue

And let's not even mention Jesus H Christ and the Four Hornsmen of the Apocalypse, who were on the iPod last night.

The Roaring Silence, baby. Though I have, and love, both versions.

I also have this pet theory that "Blinded by the Light" is a proto rap song.

BTW, if this tells you anything, the song after the Mike Oldfield cut is "22,000 Days"

Slumming, definitely slumming.

Those are among M.'s favorite songs, too, though he prefers the Manfred Mann version of BBTL, I do believe.
