Dept of really bad ideas from the Cold War

The Davy Crockett Weapon System, the smallest nuclear weapon ever made by the United States. (Well, acknowledged. There used to be an MOS for "Backpack Nuclear Weapons Operator", or so I've heard.)

Money shot:

...the weapon's tendency to spew radiation over the battlefield made up for its shortcomings as an explosive.
